Aug 24, 2023

For players that can use Medium Armor in Baldur's Gate 3, here are some sets that they will want to try and find.

With Baldur’s Gate 3 finally released, players are getting more and more excited each day while discovering the various ways that they can improve their gameplay. One of them is the equipment they can buy, loot, or find in the world. And, of course, one of the most important pieces of equipment is the armor.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a lot of different options when it comes to armor, but one of the most popular choices is the Medium Armor, which gives the players different modifiers that can affect their stats, and also can improve their AC which is necessary when battling opponents.

One of the rarest armor items in the game is the Adamantine Scale Mail, and it provides the wearer with the amazing Adamantine Backlash, which means that when a melee attack hits them, the attacker is sent Reeling for two turns

Reeling: Recovering from receiving a terrible blow or hitting a strong metal. Has a -1 penalty to Attack Rolls for every turn remaining.

Of course, all good things come with a cost, and while wearing this, the player would have a disadvantage on Stealth rolls. A small price to pay, really. It can be found during The Adamantine Forge Quest, at Grymforge. The player would need the Scale Mail Mould and Mithral Ore to craft it.

Adamantine Scale Mail Stats: Very Rare, 14+ Dexterity Modifier (max 2), AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Disadvantage on Stealth rolls, Weight 19, Value 900.

Apart from the cool name, this medium armor has some unique features that can’t be found anywhere else in the game. It provides the wearer with Order Of Nature, which means that any Undead creatures that hit the player will receive 1d6 Radiant Damage, and Beasts deal an additional 1d6 Radiant damage. It has practically no downside, which makes it a perfect addition to any inventory.

It can be found on Owlbear Nest, as a lootable item from a headless skeleton. The stats of this armor are as follows:

The Oak Father's Embrace Stats: Uncommon, 13 + Dexterity Modifier (max 2), AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Weight 5,4, Value 150

The Dark Justiciar Mail, when worn, gives the Nightsinger’s Reply effect, which makes the player (while Obscured by shadow), deal 1d4 Necrotic damage to attackers that hit them with a Melee Attack. It is definitely an option for the ones that want to look amazing while also deadly, and are enamored with the shadows and a stealthy approach. It can be found on Grymforge, and it is dropped by a Skeleton.

Dark Justiciar Mail Stats: Uncommon, 13 + Dexterity Modifier, AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Weight 9, Value 130.

For animal-friendly gamers, the Slippery Chain Shirt can be just the thing they need. While wearing it, the player has the effect of Aura Of Protection, which means that they can heal a creature, which will automatically Disengage and won’t trigger Opportunity Attacks.

It can be found at The Festering Cove, and the player has to climb through the fungus-like structures and loot it from a trapped locked chest.

Slippery Chain Shirt Stats: Uncommon, 14 + Dexterity Modifier (max 2), AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Weight 9, Value 690.

The Chain Of Liberation armor has the power to set even the most impatient players free. The wearer, once per turn, can reduce the duration of their Momentum by 1 turn to Sprint, thus giving the player the necessary boost they crave in their time of need. It can be found in the Underdark, inside an opulent Chest behind a secret Stone Wall in Selunite Outpost. It is a little tricky but worth it.

Chain of Liberation Stats: Uncommon, 13 + Dexterity Modifier (max 2), AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Weight 9, Value 480.

The Jolty Vest, as its name suggests, has a very interesting effect: when the wearer takes damage while having Lightning Charges, the attacker must succeed a Dexterity Saving Throw or become Shocked. Definitely a good choice for introverts or just for people who love their personal space.

When everything else fails, the Robust Chain Shirt can give the player an essential advantage in the battle, with the Piercing Counter effect: When the wearer has 50% Hit Points or less and is damaged by a melee attack, deal 1d4 Piercing damage to the attacker.

It can be found as an optional reward at Grymforge. The player has to give the Boots Of Speed to Thrinn. If players want to, they could kill Thrinn and retrieve the boots. If this is too much hassle, it can be purchased by the Roah Moonglow Merchant, at Shattered Sanctum.

Robust Chain Shirt Stats: Uncommon, 13 + Dexterity Modifier, AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2, Weight 9, Value 300.
